Premier Building Services is a privately held commercial cleaning company serving healthcare facilities, corporate offices, warehouses, schools, and everything in between across New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Since 1996, we've grown to 279 accounts and 350+ employees — not by chasing volume, but by keeping promises.

Unlike franchise operations, our senior leadership stays involved from the proposal through day-to-day execution. Every account has a named supervisor who owns the outcome, and every facility receives compliance documentation and audit-ready reporting as standard.

Our roots are in healthcare, where the margin for error is zero. That level of rigor — infection-control protocols, regulatory awareness, relentless follow-through — is baked into how we clean every building, whether it's a hospital wing or a corporate headquarters.

Founder's Story

Born in the Hallways of a Hospital

Peter Garbera was 18, working full time as a hospital janitor and attending college full time, when he realized he'd found his life's work. Not just cleaning — but the kind of cleaning that protects patients, passes inspections, and gives healthcare workers one less thing to worry about.

After graduating, he worked as a Supervisor in Environmental Services at a major NJ hospital, then held Director of Environmental Services positions at two long-term care facilities, and then served as Director of Environmental Services for 12 years at a major New Jersey hospital. In 1996, he started Premier with one employee and one account. Every weekend, he was out with his crew — stripping floors, shampooing carpets, washing windows, power washing sidewalks. When COVID hit, he was right there performing electrostatic disinfection alongside his team.

That hands-on mentality never changed. Peter still visits facilities, still knows his supervisors by name, and still believes the only way to lead a cleaning company is from the floor up. In 2026, his leadership and industry impact were recognized with selection into the NJBIZ ICON Honors program — one of New Jersey's most prestigious business recognitions.
